Five US and Global Demographic Trends Hulkaroy Jouraboeva
Millennials, young adults born from 1981 to 1996, are the new generation to watch.
Though identified independent- but if they were to vote, I think majority would side with the Democratic party
Changing the market by spending money wisely, several consumer goods have declined, and "Millennials are to be blamed for" apparently
They are the future- the most educated, independent, aware, diverse, also the most in debt, because of college tuition
The competition in the job market will rise because every single millennial will be searching for a job to pay off their debt
This is an ambiguous timeline given to millennials, but I believe it's the people born in 1980 through 1999
The American family is changing.
Money, Income issue. People aren't able to make a compromise over with having kids, family, over the rise of prices in everything
What is the cause of "the roles of mothers and fathers converging, due in part to the rise of breadwinner moms."
Millennials are also the cause here
"51% of Americans say children are better off with a mother at home." Totally agree with this. I think it should change back, moms staying more at home than dads
Decline in marriage, rise in cohabitation, divorce, and remarriage, leads to culture change
Christians are declining as a share of the U.S. population, and the number of U.S. adults who do not identify with any organized religion has grown.
Bit of culture change- religion is not as forced as before, it's not always passed down, kids usually make their own choice of following a religion or not
"The unaffiliated are now the second-largest religious group in 48% of the world’s nations." I would like more elaboration on this, I predict it's only some countries, mostly western, and not 48% of the nations, especially the "nones" not being the second largest.
I think it'll go down even more with the decline of baby boomers or older people in general
This should be in books, this is revolutionary, whole another inconspicuous philosophical movement
Culture, education, millennials, exposure to current events, time management, are some of the causes
America’s demographic changes are shifting the electorate – and American politics.
I think celebrities also have an impact on social media affecting millenials on political issues
Political issues are oversimplified
and generalized on social media
What is the likelihood of formation of 3rd "primary" Independent party- based on this trend?
The electorate change will continue as America diversifies more and more and because of the rise of millenials
Is it always that Republican- Conservative and
Democrat- Liberal, how did this come to be?
The world is aging.
I think big companies trying to educate the young on STEM is because they embrace this fact, and they want to pass on their learning to younger generation, look for the best to lead or be employed at their company
What are some of the problems underlying this fact?
Since there was a rapid in population from 1950-2010 with world population tripling, US' doubling. It'll be whole new world the loss of older generations
The "world aging" may not be the case in the future. I read in the tech. news that scientists are working on keeping the human brain functioning forever, there's a possible case of immortality in future, which is scary
The young are growing, millennials are taking over, the baby boomers and elderly, major company and world leaders are also getting old
