Nationalise church lands/properties
Banned public displays of catholicism (e.g ringing of Church bells)
Dissolved some religious orders (e.g Jesuits)
not allowed any part of the education system (private + public)

If owner could be compensated, their land could be nationalized for 'public use'
Granted freedom to worship any religion
April 1931: elections to form the Provisional gov.
June 1931:
elections to create a constituent cortes to form a constitution
Meant to dissolve once it was agreed (never did)
