Ethical issues raised by the article
Reporter defending the misleading actions of the subject of interest, after being proven false.
They removed the story from the site without a replacement to provide accurate information.
Information provided by the subject of interest was not check for accuracy before publication.
The reporter/producers took the word of a man that was not there at the time of interest, invalidating the accounts of those who were actually there.
My reaction to the ethical issues raised in this article
If you were there, it would be easy to recall the series of events that occurred in such a extreme event.

One of the largest parts of journalism is fact checking, how on earth could take an interview for one of the most controversial events in the last decade and not make sure what you were reporting was accurate.
The removal of the story from their website without a replacement, appears that they could have been lying and known the information was false.
Play devils advocate, what opposing view could be expressed
The government could be attempting to provide false information in hopes that the people will believe it to be as chaotic as they want it to to explain the reasoning of not sending help.
HE could have been told to report to the F.B. I that he was not at the scene to keep a minimal appearance.
How could using a balance in research and reporting tactics have made a difference in the outcome of what was reported
The credibility is in question after such an erroneous article was posted, how can a reader or viewer trust that the information they are providing is correct?
An accurate account of what happened that night could have been given by a person who was actually there.
What is your opinion about the issue, and what caused you to form that opinion
I feel he was lying to gain fame from a tragedy.
The subject could not answer questions straightforward . In other research of this topic I have not read of any other accounts validating what the subject claims.
