Semantic Rules deal with the meaning of specific words. Ex: Possible to let us know that "bikes" are for riding.
-
Disruptive Language

Emotive Language contains words that sound as if they're describing something when they are really announcing the speaker's attitude towards something.
All language is symbols. Symbols are arbitrary constructions that represent a communicator's thoughts.

One concept that really intrigued me during this chapter are pragmatic rules. I can relate with this concept because everyday, I always watch what I say to the people around me. I do this because I respect everyone and don't want to cause them any harm or be hurt in any way. It's interesting because there are some people who don't watch what they say because frankly they don't care or don't understand why it's not okay just to say whatever they want to. For instance, wouldn't talk to my parents like the way I do with my friends.
