parts of a cell
Cell membrane
Controls what enters and leaves the cell
Cytoplasm
A watery liquid which supports smaller structures in the cell
Nucleus
contains chromosomes and controls the cell
EXTRA parts of a Plant cell
plants ALSO have three MORE parts to their cels
Chloroplasts
makes food for the cell

Microscopes
how to see cells
Cells must be thin enough to allow light to pass through them
a stain is used to make cells easier to see
Methylene blue is used to stain cheek cells
Iodine is used to stain onion cells
microscopes are used to make cells look bigger
