Plot: Odysseus returns to Circe to give Alpenor a proper burial. Circe tells Odysseus that he will have to be aware of the sirens, which are singers who make the boats crash off course. Odysseus tells his men to put wax in their ears to make sure that they can't hear it. Odysseus wants to hear the sirens, so he has his men tie him up so that he can hear them. Next, Odysseus and his men have to get past monsters, Scylla and charybdis. They are able to do so with only losing a few men. After this, Odysseus and his men get to the island of the sun god, Helios. While Odysseus is sleeping, his men eat the sacred cattle. Helios is angry and asks zeus for revenge. Zeus causes a storm which crushes Odysseus boat, killing all of his men, leaving Odysseus a board to float on. Odysseus eventually makes it to Ogygia, Calypso's island.
