Student success
The combination of outcomes based on a student’s personal goals and expectations that are reasonably defined and communicated by the school community. Student success is not determined solely by external assessments or evaluations that do not include the student’s voice. Any definition of student success should also align with IB philosophy—it is therefore holistic, including referring to and acknowledging the embodiment of the learner profile attributes and international-mindedness.

Several ways are suggested in the documents but essentially it is through teachers’ actions, students learn both explicitly and implicitly that difference and diversity are the norms, which create a feeling of respect, tolerance and acceptance.
Schools should encourage and support students to explore multiple perspectives, share their own experiences, interests and viewpoints with students.
Schools and learning communities should provide safe places where they feel they can be respected feel safe to voice their differences.
