A school with a focus on agency considers its perceptions of how children learn, children's capabilities and the overall value of childhood.
The key to supporting and sustaining agency and self-efficacy is to give students as many opportunities as possible to develop and demonstrate the approaches to learning and attributes of the learner profile.

The Learning Community: Learner agency is the foundation for all learning & teaching and influences the attitude of the learning community. The learning community aims to provide and foster voice, choice and ownership for everyone *
The Image of the Learner: It begins by accepting that students are capable learners, valued and natural inquirers. Learner agency is connected to a student's belief in their ability to succeed (self-efficacy). IB Educators and schools need to think about time, space, materials, interactions and relationships that support student agency.
The Student: Learner Agency is connected to a student's belief in their ability to succeed (self-efficacy).There is a cyclical relationship between growth of learner agency and development of self-efficacy. Students feel powerful to take meaningful and intentional action.

Our goal for Module 2LE1: share our findings and agree upon a list of 4–6 key considerations that IB educators and schools need to consider when putting that aspect of the programme into practice.
