Disease process:
Bone marrow produce immature WBC, cant funct. normally. Clone, fill bone marrow with abn. WBC spill into circulatory system. #1 pedi ca.
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) 78%. Peak onset 2-3 yo. Whites + males.
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) Myeloid cells.17% of pedi leukemias. Peak <2 yo and teens. Asian/PI, hispanic, white males.
Down Syndrome ^ r/o ALL.
Radiation exposure in womb
tx with chemo ^ r/o AML.
