Nullification crisis

South carolina decided to nullify the tariffs imposed by the federal govt. Apparently those tariffs were unconstitutional and that the state could refrain from following it if needed
So when a special convention was hosted in order to nullify the hated law, Jackson prepared for military action against South Carolina
But later Jackson proposed for a compromise where the Congress would lower the tariff, and South Carolina agreed to it.
