There wasn't much progress in the early and mid 1900s in terms of rights and equality for the LGBT+ community. In the late 1900s however, Australia and individual states take considerable measures to improve rights for LGBT+ people. South Australia was the first state that decriminalised homosexual acts in 1975, followed by ACT (1976), Victoria (1980), NT (1983), NSW (1984), WA (1989), QLD (1991) and lastly Tasmania in 1997.
