SSM legalised in Australia on 9 December, 2017.
Redefinition of marriage to "the union of 2 people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life" instead of "the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life".
Social impact
Expression of LGBTQIA+ realationships and individuals more widely accepted, or rather, people now know that it is more widely accepted.
