Discrimination
Discrmination has long effected many people. This includes people like LGBT, Women, people of color and people with a disability. This discrimination effects what jobs they can get, where they can live, how much money they make and just how some people act towards them in general.
Identity
Identity is a very important concept that is very important and many people in history, have tried to tell people what they are.
One example of this is the story of the Bear. Because the factory workers and managers told him he was a funny man who was just being lazy and wearing a fur coat, he started to believe it. Even though he knew he was truly a bear (which he again realized at the end. 
Fear
Throughout history, there have been many cases of powerful people using fear to control their people
There was also the example with the young boy named Frankie. All the kids were scared of him, but they still pretended to be nice to him out of fear that he would beat them up or that he would do something to them
The Nazis are a prime example of fear. Hitler used his power to instill fear in the people of Germany, and to make them do terrible things because they didn't want to get on the Nazi Party's bad side
Stereotyping
Stereotyping has led to many problems in this country. An example of this is the police shootings agains the black people. They see a black person reach for something and they immediatly assume they have a gund or some other kind of weapon. This has led to many problems with the law and many uprisings in the black community.
Hate/ Racism
Thoughout all of history humans have used hate and racism against people of other religons, race and even gender. An example of this happened when we brought the slaves over from africa because we thought we were better than them and made racial slurs and forced them to work for free.
Anti-Semitism
The Nazis are also a prime example of anti-semitism. They committed one of the largest mass murders in history, and it was all in the name of "making the superior race" because they felt that people of Jewish heritage were inferior to them.
Though we mostly associate anti semitism with the Nazi's and the Holocaust, the ancient Romans were also big offenders of this. They were the originals who branched off from Judaism and created christianity in the first place, and they tried to rid the world of Judaism by changed everyone to Christian
Obedience
Cults had many obedient followers that would follow many of the messed up and crazy things that Cults had them do
Marshall Applewhite was the leader of Heavens Gate which was a cult that believed there was a spaceship in the tail of the Hale-Bopp comet that would take them away while earth got destroyed
David Koresh was the leader of the cult named the branch of davidians. He moved his group into a compound where the FBI raided it. Almost everyone in the compound was dead because they lit the coumpound on fire.
Jim Jones was the leader of the cult named the peoples temple. People blindy followed him down to south america where he convinced them to kill their children them commit suicide
