Types of pollination
-
-
Insect Pollination
When insects carry pollen from the stamen to the stigma of the same or different flower. They are attracted by the smell and colour.
Wind Pollination
When wind disperses pollen from the stamen to a stigma. It can carry the pollen to a different flower or the same one.
Fertilisation
Pollen grains land on the stigma and begin growing into pollen tubes within a few minutes which allows the sperm from the pollen to reach the egg cell.
