Book 6
Athena shows up in Nausicaa's dream and tells her to do laundry at the river. She goes there and sees Odysseus. Odysseus begs for her help and she helps him. She leaves to the town and Odysseus follows, praying to Athena for blessing.
Book 7
With Athena's magic mist Odysseus walks into the city, and goes to the palace where Alcinous and Arete live with Nausicaa and her brothers. The king and queen welcome Odysseus and offer him a good bed.
Book 8
Before Odysseus leave, king and queen hold a feast. Odysseus cries when he listens to the song about the Trojan war, so the king changes the party to the contest. Euryalus makes Odysseus angry so he competes others and wins. Alcinous askes who Odysseus is.
Book 9
Odysseus tells Alcinous about his long journey and how he got there. He said when his ship landed on the island of the Cicones, and they killed the people. They fought with them again and went to the land of Lotus-Eaters, but they escaped. However, they met giant Polyphemus and his people were eaten. Odysseus attacked the giant's eye, so his father Poseidon cursed Odysseus.
Book 10
Odysseus met Aeolus and Aeolus helped him at first, but when he failed to go back and returned, he did not help him again. When they reached the land of Laestrygonia, they had to escape again. Then Circe's island appeared and Circe turned his people to pig. Hermes helped Odysseus to get his people back and help of Circe, and Circe gave them food for a year. Circe told Odysseus to go to the house of Hades and meet Tiresias.
Book 11
As Odysseus performed a sacrifice, first Elpenor came and asked for a funeral. And his mother, but Odysseus spoke to Tiresias first. He talked about Odysseus' feature and gave him some advices. He met so many other people their, heard their stories. And Alcinous asked about Agamemnon, so he told. And he returned to the ship.
Book 12
They went back to Circe's, and had a funeral of Elpenor. Then Circe told about sea monsters, so Odysseus prepared for that. However his crew ate the cattle of Helius, so Zeus destroyed the ship, and killed all of the crew on the sea. Odysseus reached the Calypso's island after.
Book 13
The Phaeacians sent Odysseus back home with their fast ship. He reached his home with many gifts, but could not recognize his own land. Poseidon got angry to the Phaeacians, so he turned the ship to the stone. Athena met Odysseus to help to kill the suitors.
Book 14
Odysseus, as a old man, meets Eumaeus, the swineherd. Eumaeus was in pain of missing his master, so Odysseus told him a story of Odysseus. However, he did not believe the story. They anyway ate and drank wine, and went to bed.
Book 15
Athena tells Telemachus to go back to Ithaca since Odysseus has arrived his home. Menelaus sends Telemachus and Pisistratus with many gifts, and Telemachus meets Theoclymenus as he sails back to Ithaca. Meanwhile Eumaeus tells his story to Odysseus and the son reaches the land.
