skeletal system/tissues
function
support the weight of the body, act as levers for muscles to pull on, protect soft organs, store calcium and contain bone marrow that makes blood cells. bone cells also function in energy metabolism by influencing blood sugar regulation.
red and yellow marrow
yellow marrow is a site of aft storage, with little or no role in blood cell formation and it locate at other regions of limb bones of adults , is dormant.
red marrow bone makes the blood cells and it located between the trabeculae of spongy bone in the axial skeleton, girdles and proximal epiphysis of each humerus and femur of adults.

component of long bone
formation of a bone collar around the diaphysis, calcification and cavitation in center of the diaphysis, growth of a periosteal bud into the center of the shaft and formation of the first bone trabeculae, appearance of the medullary cavity and continued rapid growth throughout the fetal period, and ossification of the epiphysed and continued growth in length at the epiphyseal plates through adolesende
type of bone cells
osteogenic cells are stem cells that differentiate into bone forming osteoblasts. osteoblasts are cels that actively produce and secrete the organic component of the bone matrix and osteocytes are keep the bone matrix healthy.
joint
fibrous joint
-
A) suture- locate at the skull only and there no movement. B) syndesmosis - bundle of dense connective tissue and there are a little movement and it locate at the distal tibufibular. C) gumphosis - tooth meets alveolar and it immoveable and it locate at the periodontal ligaments.
cartilaginous
adjoining bones united by cartilage A)synchondrosis(hyaline cartilage) it immobile and locate between 1st rib and manubrium. B)symphysis (fibrocartilage) it slightly movable locate at the intervertebral discs and pubic symphysis of the pelvis.
synovial joint - adjoining bones separated by joint cavity, covered with articular cartilage and enclosed within an articular capsule lined with synovial membrane,

skeletal muscle
function
muscle tissue produces movement, opens and closes body passageways maintains posture and stabilizes joints, and generated body heat.
properties
muscle tissue has the special properties of contractility. excitability, extensibility, and elasticity. myofilaments, which generate contractile force, comprise a large percentage of sarcrcoplasm of muscle cells.
connective tissue layer
each skeletal muscle is an organ. the connective tissue elements of a skeletal muscle are the epimysium around the whole muscle, the perimysium around a fascicle , and the endomysium around fivers. a fascicle is a bundle of muscle fibers. All these connective tissue sheaths form the tendon.
