Skeletal System/Tissues
Major Functions:
Support: This is the framework for soft tissue connection. In Tendons, a connection between bone to muscle is made, and in ligaments, a connection between bone to bone is made.

Red Bone Marrow:
Composed of gelatinous, soft tissue

Types of Bone Cells:
Osteogenic cells:
-
-
Work to create osteoblasts, and extracellular matrix.
-
Osteoclast:
-
-
-
-
-
acts as a phagocyte and engulfs, digests, and processes things.
In Organic material, stuff is broken down inside of the osteoclast

Connective Tissue Layers
Endomysium-mostly reticular fibers, contains loose connective tissue, and has blood vessels within.
Perimysium- around each muscle fascicle, containing dense irregular connective tissue.
Epimysium-around each muscle organ, containing dense irregular connective tissue.
Deep Fascia- around several muscles that often work together-also composed of dense irregular connective tissue.
