DIFFERENTIATION PROCESS IN ACS
Teacher applies strategies and concerns disappear.
Teacher does differentiation to help student complete his work.
Simplifying tasks
Extra time given to finish assignments
Teacher sees improvement in student's learning growth.
If there is no improvement in student achievement teacher writes referrals to LD counselor
LD counselor observes the student
LD counselor works strategies with the teacher
LD counselor contacts the parents
Child being tested
If the family does not want the child to be tested; teacher, family and the LD counselor keep on working on strategies to improve student's learning
In the case the student is tested
LD counselor , teacher and the family meet and work on the plan
Teacher implements all the differentiation strategies that they agreed upon
The school receives an IEP from the doctor
Every 6 weeks they meet again to see if the students achieved his/her goals
If the student achieves his/her goal, a new IEP is planned
If the student cannot achieve his/her goal, the student remains working on the same IEP
If the strategies do not work, LD counselor asks parents for the student to be tested

Encourage Students to Propose Ideas for Their Projects
Assign Open-Ended Projects

Give Different Sets of Reading Comprehension Activities
Create Learning Stations
Teacher stays in touch-base with LD counselor to work on different strategies to find which strategies work the best with the student.
