- - - - M: Militarism was a cause of the war due to the naval and arms race. The main event of Militarism and its causing to WWI was the naval rivalry in the year 1900. While Britain and Germany built their weaponry, the major powers were also building up their armies.
        A: One of the two alliances was the Triple Entente. This was made up of Soviet Union (Russia), Great Britain, and France. A realistic problem that could've been an issue is in one of these alliances if a member from one of these declared war on a member from the other alliance, the conflict would rapidly escalate.
        I: Imperialism is a policy of extending a country's power and influence through colonization, use of military force, or other means. This being said, the tensions from European Imperialism did not only cause the entanglement of alliances, but also lead to countries strengthening their military. In European nations like Germany, nationalism was fueled mostly by imperialism. Nations like these were expanding and genuinely thought they were indomitable.
        N: It was this pan-Slavic nationalism that inspired the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo in June 1914, an event that was direct cause to the outbreak of World War I

- - - - The diary of Rifleman William Eve reveals the reality of daily life for soldiers during WW1, for example, here is something that Rifleman wrote during his days at war: "Heavy shelling at houses in our rear. Some incendiary shells. Word passed down to keep close up to parapet as at 3.30 the brewery was bombarded. At 3 the Germans shelled the farm at rear where we get our water, our guns later (to time) replying rapidly. Excellent firing, the brewery being shattered, saw chimney fall. Snipers shot while leaving two of their shots before going through the officers’ hut, missing them by about a foot. The best bit of fun we’ve had." (Rifleman William Eve, 1914)
