Why are child soldiers a bad thing?
Children's development and well-being are disrupted when they are recruited into military organisations. Witnessing killing, especially taking part in it, will be very harmful to children, who is still developing psychologically and emotionally.
Children exposed to long-term violence are also at risk for psycho-somatic symptoms such as insomnia and nightmares, as well as prone to addiction and aggressive behavior.
