Plot:
Ten years after the war, Calypso took Odysseus to be his wife on her island. The Olympian gods decide that the time has come for Odysseus to go home. Manerva travels to Ithica to comfort Telemicus. Minerva tells Telemachus that Odysseus will come home soon. She disguises herself as Mentes and tells him to travel to Sparta to consult about them, Odysseus. He decided to go to Sparta. When Odysseus is gone, men, that want to date Penelope take over their house eating his cows. Telemachus comes to the estate and sees the men and is furious. He tells the men that Jobe will avenge them.

Plot: Telemachus is getting tired of the suitors staying in his home and tells them to leave, but the suitors refuse to leave because they want to marry Penelope. She sits in her room creating a death shroud for Odysseus's father. Four years go by, and she is getting close to finishing it when she decides to undo some of her work so that she can prolong the chances of her husband coming home alive. Zeus sends down 2 eagles which make it seem as though Odysseus is still alive. Athena disguises herself as Telemachus so that he can go and find his father.
Book 3:
Plot:
Telemachus and Athena disguised as Mentor goes to Pylos where they see the sacrifice of bulls for Poseidon. Athena tells Telemachus to watch out for Nestor and to ask him where his father might be. Meanwhile, Clytemnestra is compared to Penelope by Nestor. Nestor offers Telemachus his son to help on his journey. He also tells Telemachus to go to Sparta and meet with Agamemnon's brother, Menelaus. Athena transforms into an eagle and Nestor realizes this.

Plot: Telemachus goes to Sparta and meets with Menelaus and Queen Helen. Menelaus forced Proteus to tell him that he knows what happened to Odysseus. Menelaus tells Telemachus that his father is alive. Meanwhile, the suitors plan to kill Telemachus when he comes back home. Athena lets Penelope know that she is watching out for her and her son.
