Subject Verb Agreement

Verb + -s/-es = third person singular in the simple present tense

Singular: My friend lives in Boston
Plural: My friends live in Boston

Plural Verb: people, police, cattle, and fish do not end in -s but they are plural nouns in the example sentences and require plural verbs.

Possesive Nouns: to show posession , add apostrophe and -s to a singular noun.

If a singular noun ends in -s there are two possible fomrs

  1. Add an apostrophe and -s: Thomas´s book
  2. Ad only apostrophe: Thomas´ book

Nouns as Adjectives: When a noun used as a mdifier is combined with a number expression, the noun is singular and a hyphen (-) is used

The soup has vegetables in it.
It is Vegetable soup.

Coun and Non Count Noun:
Chair is called count noun, this means you can count chairs.
Furniture is called non count noun, in grammar you can not use numbers with the word furniture.

A pronoun is used in place of a noun . The noun it refers to is called the "antecedent"
