        Indication: healing position post-reduction
        MOA: skin fix (adhesive straps), Thomas splint, pins,
        balanced (limb weight), gallows if <2y
      - Fixation
        Indication: displacement
        MOA: internal if joint involved (screw, plate, nails, staple, wires),
        external if trauma at site of injury (wires, bars, clamps)
      - Reduction
        Indication: realign bony fragments, free
        trapped structures
        MOA: MUA, open reduction
      - Amputation
        Indication: severe e.g. type III compound
      - Operative repair
        Indication: ASAP compound fracture
      - Casting
        Indication: fractures, ligament injury, recurrent dislocation,
        deformity correction, etc.
        MOA: plaster of paris is moulded to shape of the limb over a layer of stocking anf wool, with padding at bony prominence; sets using exothermic reaction (feels warm) restores anatomy, stabilises, preserves blood supply, allows safe and early mobilisation
        NB. Post X-ray fractures to check positioning of fracture
        SEs: local discomfort, allergic dermatitis, muscle wasting,
        circulatory compromise (acute ischemic limb)
