During a manic episode a person may develop grandiose plans, or embark upon multiple overlapping and complex projects, often without any experience in the field, e.g. writing a novel or seeking funding for an impractical invention
distinct period of abnormally and persistently elevated or irritable mood, accompanied by an abnormally and persistently increased amount of goal-directed activity or energy, lasting at least one week and present most of the day, nearly every day
Full mania causes a noticeable social or occupational impairment, with poor judgement, and in some people a psychosis that causes them to be a danger to themselves and others.
