During the moon festival, the entire St. Clair family heads to Tai Lake to celebrate. Yingying was playing near other fishermen. Some of the fish blood went onto Yingying, so she spread the rest of the color on her shirt so that people would think he shirt was red.
Yingying started to stare at the moon lady, shocked by firecrackers she fell into the water. Yingying expected her mom or Amah to come, but they never did and the family left without her.
Some fishermen picked her up and left her on the shore because they saw how she was struggling in the water.
