Psalm 29-32
Psalm 31 by David: I committed my spirit into your hand
(as Christ Jesus?)
Asking God to save him
O Lord, do i take refuge in YOU
Be a rock of refuge for me
be a strong fortress to save me
for You are my rock and my fortress
for YOU are my refuge
reasons
be gracious to me, O Lord because I am in distress
for my life is spent with sorrow; my years with sighing
my strength fails because of my iniquity and my bones waste away
I have said in my alarm, "I am cut off from Your sight."
my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also
because of my adversaries, I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors
those who see me in the street flee from me
I have been forgotten like one who is dread
I have become like a broken vessel
and an object of dread to my acquaintances
for i hear the whispering of many - terror on every side as they scheme together against me
as they plot to take my life
deliver me in Your righteousness
save me in Your steadfast love
Let me never be put to shame
make Your face shine on Your servant
O Lord, let me not be put to shame, for I call upon YOU
incline Your ear to me, deliver me speedily
YOU take me out of the net they have hidden for me
deal with the antagonist
let them go silently to Sheol
let the lying lips be mute, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt
let the wicked be put to shame
Recall what God did to him
YOU have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God
because YOU have seen my affliction
YOU have known the distress of my soul
for HE has wondrously shown His steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city
YOU have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy
YOU have set my feet in a broad place
YOU heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help
So, David act from now on ...
I will rejoice and be glad in Your steadfast love
i
commit my spirit into Your hand
declare his belief
But I
trust in YOU
, O Lord
my times are in Your hand
rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors
I say, "You are
my God
."
blessed
be the Lord
Love the Lord
all you His saints
Be strong and let your heart take courage
, all you who
wait for
the Lord
I
hate
those who pay regard to worthless idols but ...
God was perceived as
the Lord preserves
the faithful
YOU lead me and guide me for Your name's sake
OH, how abundant is
Your goodness
and worked for those who
take refuge in YOU
, in the sight of the children of mankind
which You have stored up for those who
fear YOU
In the
cover of Your presence
, You
hide them from
the plots of men
YOU store them in
Your shelter
from the
strike of tongues
but abundantly repay those who
acts in pride
Psalm 32 by David: Blessed are the forgiven
David's blief
Who is blessed?
whose sin is covered
blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity
there is no deceit in the spirit of the man
blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven
deliverance from the Lord
YOU surround me with the shouts of deliverance
YOU preserve me from trouble
YOU are a hiding place for me
the righteous vs the wicked
the wicked
many are the sorrows of the wicked
the righteous
but the steadfast love surrounds who trusts in the Lord
specific advice & look after from the Lord
I will counsel you with My eye upon you
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go
When David kept silent to God because of sin
(For when I kept silent, ...)
my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long
for day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer
David confess his sin to God
he did in the past
I did not cover my iniquity
I acknowledged my sin to YOU
I said,"I will confess my transgression to the Lord,"
the response he experienced from the Lord
God forgave the iniquity of my sin
So, David's advice in response to God's forgiving (concluding remarks)
advice to those who seek the Lord
NOT to be
be not be like a horse or a mule without understanding
which must be curbed with bit and bridle
or it will not stay with you
To do
O righteous, be glad in the Lord and rejoice
all you upright in the heart shout for joy
therefore let everyone who is godly, offer prayer to YOU at a time when YOU may be found ; surely they shall not reach HIM in the rush of great waters
Psalm 30 by David: Joy comes with the Morning
(God helped me and I will extol Him.)
Recall what God did to him
O Lord, for YOU have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me
O Lord my God, I cried to YOU for help, and YOU have healed me
YOU restored me to life from those who go down to the pit
O Lord, YOU have brought up my soul from Sheol
As for me, I said in my prosperity, "I shall be never moved."
O Lord, by Your favor, YOU made my mountain stand strong
YOU have turned for me my mourning into dancing
YOU have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness
David's responses to God
concluding
declaring:
O you, His saints, sing praises to the Lord and give thanks to His holy name
my glory may sing Your praise and not be silent
I will extol YOU
O Lord, I will give thanks to YOU forever
confirming his belief:
For His anger is but for a moment and His favor is for a lifetime
belief:
weeping may tarry for the night but joy comes with the morning
insisting to asking God
reasons
negation of ...
YOU hid Your face, I was dismayed
what profit is there in my death if i go down to the pit?
will the dust praise? will it tell of your faithfulness?
O Lord, I cry to YOU, and I plead to the Lord for mercy
O Lord, hear and be merciful to me
O Lord, be my helper
Psalm 29 by David: Ascribe to the Lord Glory
Ascribe to the Lord x3
strength
the voice of the Lord x6
is over the waters
is full of majesty
is powerful
breaks the cedars
flashes forth flames of fire
makes the deer give birth
stripes the forest bare
the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon
HE makes Lebanon to skip like a calf and Sirion like a young wild ox
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh
glory
worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness
the King sits enthroned over the flood
the Lord sits enthroned as King forever
due His name
the God of glory thunders over many waters
in His temple, all cry "Glory!"
O heavenly beings
making wishes
may the Lord bless His people with peace!
may the Lord give strength to His people!
