Human Behavior
- An example of stereotyping someone would be saying that "black people cannot swim" or "Asians cannot drive."
Stereotyping
- We all hold misleading stereotypes of people that limit us as individuals in that we cheat ourselves out of the benefits different cultures can contribute.
- Many develop harmful stereotypes of entire races.
- a stereotype is an over-generalized belief about a particular category of people
- stereotypes can shape our view of ourselves and others

Discrimination
Discrimination occurs when prejudices are translated into action. It is when the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.
When a person who says that all Mexicans are lazy is guilty of prejudice. Ethnicity can be the basis of prejudice and discrimination.

ANTI-SEMITISM
- Anti- semitism is the hostility to or prejudice against Jews
- The holocaust is the best example to use for anti-semitism because over 2 million Jews were murdered.
- The Swastika is a symbol of the German Nazi party that persecuted all the Jews.
FEAR
- fear can cause a change in behavior, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events. It also can cause people to do things that they would normally never think of doing but it puts your body in the fight or flight situation.

-Fear is a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat that occurs. Fear can result in anxiety and usually loss of courage
Obedience
Obedience is a form of social influence in which a person blocks out instructions or orders from an adult.

Identity
Identity is the way someone see's themselves or an individual. We can view ourselves by race, religion, race, or culture.
One's Identity and self esteem are closely related and developing self esteem and a strong sense of identity are very important to good mental health.
Hate/ Racism
the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
The Ku Klux Klan is a hate group that hates and targets African Americans and believes that they are superior to African-Americans and they believe in the confederacy. The Holocaust was an example of hate and racism. Millions of people were killed in barbaric and gruesome ways because they were a different religion. Racism is unfortunately still something that we face in our country today.
