Fort Pilar
a 17th-century military defense fortress built by the Spanish colonial government. It serves as a present-day open-air shrine.

National Costume/Attire
Yakan
A “sawal” is tight pants with leg tassels made of silk threads called “jambu". The “badju” is a tight-fitting top made of woven material or purchased black material “naynay.” It has tight-fitting sleeves and decorated with gold buttons called “batawi.”
“Badju” for men are usually open at the front with a pair of “jambu” (tassels of silk threads)” sewn at the collar. “Badju” for women are usually worn with a white short sleeved blouse with huge collar called “lambung.”
“pis,” a head cloth measuring one meter or more on each side, forming a square, commonly with red background symbolizing a Yakan man’s bravery and strength coupled with green, yellow, and black plaits.
“kandit,” traditional belt for men reaching fifteen meters or longer and made of red cotton cloth called “gilim.” This is tediously coiled around the waist with tassels of unwoven sine’luan cloth sewn at one end to cover the genital area.
women wear a tubular skirt called “olos.” This is woven using silk threads intertwined with a cotton background and wrapped around their waist to cover that area.

Male
Upper - "sub". Black, tight-fitting long sleeves that are decorated with thick threads with colors red, green, white, and yellow.
Lower - "salwal". Black short tight pants starting from the thigh up to the hips. "pinusuan"/"kinantyo". Black long tight pants starting from the ankle up to the hips. Belt is called "b'liangen".
Headdress - "tulapok"/"mamandyo". Square medium striped piece of cloth.
Accessories - "sabat". necklace made of beads. "g'lang". round-shaped bracelets made of gold. "sing'l". round-shaped anklet made of gold.
Female
Upper - "sub". Black, tight-fitting long sleeves that are decorated with thick threads with colors red, green, white, and yellow.
Lower - "tapis". Rectangular piece of clothing starting from ankle up to the waist. Belt called "b'liangen".
Headdress - "magpandyo". Medium striped square piece of cloth.
Accessories - "sabat"/"bitak'l". Necklace made of beads. "g'lang". Round shaped bracelet made of gold. "sing'l". Round-shaped anklet made of gold.
Tausug
The Tausug men wears tight fitting pants and shirt, a sash around the waist and a matching turban. Their clothes are made of cotton which they weave locally.
Oftentimes, men shave their heads or cut their hair short of signify their social status. The women wear matching sarong of the Malay type. They wear brass accessories to their blouses or use as necklace or bracelets.
Badjao
"patadjong". Worn by both men and women as a skirt or a gown, tucked at the chest level,
females used to cover their faces white before applying make-up.
clothes now are modernized, but most still wear checkered or stripped skirts over normal shirts and shorts.
