The Learner Agency & self-efficacy
Learning Community
It recognizes children's emergent identities and competencies, they create an education context that values children both for who they are in the present and who they will become in the future. (From PP overview)
The community values critical and creative thinking, perseverance, independence, and confidence. Hey! Those sound like a lot of attitudes that were subsumed into the Learner Profile! (Larisa)
The community offer the freedom for the learner to take risks , to develop their interests, to take initial actions and take the responsibility for their decisions. (Alex)
Teacher roles
teacher roles are more on building opportunities for students own learning, increasing collaborative working culture among students and teachers and other learning community members and facilitate students' learning.(Tiew)
When students have agency, they are in a partnership with the teacher. (Larisa)
Teachers are not any longer viewed as instructors but facilitators who create an appropriate learning environment with learners and offer different helps or develop learner profiles with learners. (Alex)
Students' own learning
They have innate potential to inquire, question, wonder and theorize about themselves, other and the world around them. (From PP overview)
Self-efficacy is strongly correlated with agency. I love this idea. Do I believe that I can set my own course of action? (Larisa)
A learner with agency , the capability to make a choice or decision at his /her own will /pace, is the partner of the teacher. He or she has the voice, can make the choice and has the ownership . (Alex)
A learner with self-efficacy, a belief that one can make it, is confident and is able to manage something , therefore taking his/her advantages to accomplish a task. More importantly, such a learner has the attribute of residence, so he or she is easier to gain the sense of well-being. (Alex)
Strategies

that support self efficacy
students setting their own goals and criteria for success
timely and specific feedback (Larisa)
teachers model behavior and language use, reflect regularly and offer appropriate feedback. (From PP overview)
