What is listening
Listening is one of the most important communication skill because it is one of the ways to received information from the sender. Listening skill also important because not only we received information but it can help us gather information which we can use it to improve ourselves.
The differences between hearing and listening is that we require more focus for listening than hearing because hearing can means that we hear the sound but we are not paying attention to it but for listening we will listen to other people.
We spend about 70% of our time communicating and in that 70% we spend 45% listening and speaking 30% and other things such as reading and writing

Non-verbal signs of ineffective listening are what happens during ineffective listening which are yawning, look away and inappropriate movement.
Barrier to effective listening talks about that there are many problems that can occur during someone else speaking for example when we are listening to someone, our brain will automatically think of an answer even though they haven't finished speaking which mean that we could miss some information because our brain can get distracted.
Common barriers to listening are really common during conversation for example when we have multiple conversation at the time such as talking inside a classroom when professor is talking which make it harder to focus on person speaking whether it is your friend or professor
There are many reasons why we stop or get distracted while listening for example sender is boring or unattractive, your body is not ready or sick and sleepy, even closed mind can affect our listening because our brain will refuse to listen to them and try to interpret the information.
There are many that shows ineffective listening such as suddenly change topics, stage hogging which try to talk about themselves, selective listening which only listen to specific words and etc.
There are 7 types of response which are Advising which offer solution judging which tell them why you don't like it Analyzing which is to tell them what you think Questioning is to ask them more question that you want to understand comforting is to make speaker feel better Prompting just nods and smile to make speaker think that you are still listening and paraphrase which to clear your though about information
