Types of listing
Discriminative Listening
Developed at a young age—perhaps even before birth, in the womb
Does not invole the understanding of the meaning of words or phrase but merely DIFFERENT SOUNDS THAT ARE PRODUCED
EX: A distinction is made between the sounds of the voices or the parents—the voice of the father sounds different of that of the mother.

Comprehensive Listening

Comprehensive listening is complimented by sub-messages from non-verbal communication, such as the tone of voices, gestures and other body language.
Non-Verbal signals can greatly aid communication and comprehensive but also confuse and potentially lead to misunderstandings.

Active listening
Fully concentrating on what is being said rather than just passively ‘hearing’ the message of the speaker

Active listening not only means focusing on the speaker but also actively showing and non-Bernal signs of listening

The key to all effective communication, without the ability to listen effectively messages are easily misunderstood— communication breaks down and the sender of the message can become frustrated or irritated.
One concept that interest me is Ineffective Listening and Faulty Listening Behaviors. Especially Pseudo-listening because it reminds me of what I did all through middle school and made me realize how I could’ve done way better if I actually payed attention. But I also get distracted very easily so it’s hard to pay attention to something that doesn’t intrigue me.
