Chemical change

Chemical changes are a usually irreversible chemical reactions involving the rearrangement of the atoms of one or more substances and a change in their chemical properties or composition, resulting in the formation of at least one new substance.

Chemical Property

any of a material's properties that becomes evident during, or after, a chemical reaction; that is, any quality that can be established only by changing a substance's chemical identity.

Atom

The smallest part of any element that retains all the properties of that element.

Synonymous with State: solid, liquid, gas.

Pure substance

A substance made of only one kind of particle having definite properties and a definite chemical composition.
