WHY:
- Provide Adam's parents with direct and accurate information on his school behaviors.

WHEN: When Adam seems fidgety, moves a lot, cannot sit still.
HOW: Putting the books in the return books (in the library class) Ask Adam to help me check out his classmates books with the librarian.
Reflection Sheet

WHEN:
- When Adam is exhibiting unacceptable behaviors.
- When Adam is or not following class rules
HOW:
- Adam can choose one sticker and put it on his reflection sheet.
- The teacher explains briefly to Adam what behaviors or rules he was breaking (showing him classroom rules)
Tier 2
WHY: Provide Adam with more one on one help, support, and intervention.
WHEN:
- When Adam is over emotional and can not calm down in an appropriate and brief amount of time.
- When Adam requires more support and attention to address or solve a problem, issues...etc.
HOW: For planned referrals, have Adam, his parents, and his homeroom teacher set up a day or days and times to meet with the counselor ahead of time and provide his parents with reminder.
We must get written consent & permission from Adam's parents before proceeding with school counseling services.
- Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)
WHY:
- Provide more intensive intervention and monitoring.
- Provide an individualized plan for success.
WHEN: When Adam exhibits consistent and significant behavior problems that interfere with his learning and/or others in the class.

Tier 3
- Alternative to suspension

WHY:
- Provide constant,, updated and relevant information or managing behaviors in school an at home.
- Forces disengaged and inactive parents into the behavior planning and intervention process and helps make parents more responsible for addressing Adam's behaviors.
WHEN: When Adam is at Tier 3, regular and consistent behavior meetings are absolutely essential and necessary.
HOW:
- Have all relevant documents ready with a copy for each person at the meeting.
- Politely state the expectations for conduct during the meeting.
- Always highlight something positive about Adam.

WHEN: When Adam needs more specific and individualized help, solutions, and plans to address issues.
HOW: For spontaneous referrals when an incident happens and Adam unexpectedly requires counselor support.
