SUMMARY
Two swindlers convince a clothes-obsessed emperor that they can make him some gorgeous clothes that will be invisible to all except the very bright and those worthy for the positions. The swindlers proceed to weave – with great pretense – but they actually weave nothing. Naturally, neither the emperor nor members of his entourage will admit that they can’t see these “new clothes”. Supposedly dressed in them, the emperor – naked as a jaybird – wearing only his underpants – set off to display the “clothes” in a procession through town. The onlookers/ townspeople in the crowd wanting to be included among the “bright” – say how gorgeous the new clothes are. It’s not until a little child says, “But he has got nothing on! Except his underpants! – that the vanity of emperor and that of lots of other adults, is revealed. Ashamed as he is aware of the truth, the Emperor still continue to march the procession till the end.

Every character in the story, except for the young boy, chose to lie rather than telling the truth about not being able to see the suit.
Kids can be asked about why honesty is important, : or whether or not you have to be honest in order to be good.
A prominent reason is the social fear and anxiety that the suit dilemma presents, that is, if one cannot see the suit, one is inadequate of their position in society.
