During cell Division, Chromatids are joined where the centromere is.
Before Chromatids are created, they are Chromoses that get divide into two chromatids

-
Telomere
At the ends of the chromosomes are stretches of DNA called telomeres, which protect our genetic data, make it possible for cells to divide, and hold some secrets to how we age and get cancer.
Without Telomeres, DNA strands would not work and they would be damage.
-
Centromere
-
During Mitosis times, splindle fibers attach to the centromere.
