~5 Pillars of Islam~
Tommy S. & Chris P.
Period: 3
10/29/19
Faith
I think Faith should be second on the rank because it shows how you are loyal to your religion.
To be faithful, believe and say, “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasoolu Allah.” Which means in English, “There is no true god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.”
Alms/ giving zakat
I believe alms
should be first on the ranking because giving to people is very kind and selfless
Alms/giving zakat means giving a specified percentage on certain properties to certain classes of needy people.
Prayer
Pray in Arabic five times a day, at specific times, and facing Mecca.
I believe praying should be third in the ranking because
praying is very important since it shows your faith to the religion.

Fasting
I believe fasting should be fifth on the ranking because it is bad for your health going without water for all that time and doesn’t seem that necessary to the religion.
Fast during the month of Ramadan each year, avoiding all food and beverages between sunrise and sunset.
Pilgrimage
If possible, make a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca once during a lifetime.
I believe pilgrimage should be 4th on the rank not because it is bad or unnecessary, but because it isn’t as important as the other pillars. Pilgrimage is important because it means that you go to Mecca, which is very important in the religion because it is believed to be a holy place
