        The bodies ability to monitor glucose levels.
        
        When there is a rise in glucose levels the pancreases will secret insulin into the bloodstream. glucose cannot enter the cells without insulin. glucose levels normal spike after a meal. If glucose levels drop below normal the body will stimulate the pancreas to produce glycogen, glycogen stimulates the liver and skeletal muscles to release glycogen which is converted into glucose for fuel.
