Token
Utility token
It's like a voucher. It's a promise of a company to provide or sell something in the future. E.g. if you buy 1 token, you will get a 1 year licence for our product.
Used for pre-ICO, when real token (coin/currency is not ready)
Security token
Coin of your system itself. To sell them you need to create a platform/smart contracts. When someone buy such token (coin), he actually become an owner. Rather in the case of utility you pay in exchange to a promise (no smart contracts in action)
