I. Prerequisites

  1. Setup and Maintenance ­> Manage Questionnaires > Create Questionnaires for use in Learning
  1. Select Learn as the subscriber in the task list (If not specified you will not be able to view Learn Questionnaires in the application)

II. Overriding Default Evaluation: use an evaluation in self-paced, instructor-led or blender offerings. If you don't want to include an evaluation leave the Enable Evaluation check box unchecked

  1. In the Administrator work area, select Learning Catalog, and then click the Offering tab
  1. Search for and select an Offering
  1. From the Offering Details page, select the Definition tile and click Edit
  1. In the Activities tab, select the Enable evaluation check box to use an evaluation for the offering
  1. You can use the default evaluation or override it with another one

a. To override, select Use another evaluation

b. Click add Evaluation to search for and select an evaluation

c. Click Apply

d. You will find the evaluation name and description. Click Preview to view the evaluation

III. Setting up Default Evaluation

  1. Select Yes for the Required for Completion option. The learner must complete the evaluation for the offering to be marked as complete. Only after the learner completes the evaluation, the offering can be marked complete.
  1. Click Save and Close
  1. From the Home page > My Client Groups > Learning > Manage Setup tab
  1. On the Manage Learning Evaluations Default Settings page, click Edit. All the offering types, Blended, Instructor-Led and Self-Paced, are in separate regions
  1. Select the Enable evaluation check box for each of the offering types
  1. Click Add Evaluation and then search for an select an evaluation
  1. You will find the evaluation name an description. Click Preview to view the presentation of the evaluation.
  1. Select Yes in the Required for Completion option. In a required evaluation, the learner must complete the evaluation for the offering to be marked as complete. Then the status can change to Completed.
  1. Click Save

ABOUT: Use the settings in the Social Network Conversations tab on the Manage Setup page to enable social network conversations in learning items. When you enable social network conversations, learners view the Social tile and content area in course, specialization, or offering. They can join, share, and collaborate on the learning item with their peers, other learners, or instructors.

I. Enabling Social Network Conversations (course, specialization or offering level)

  1. In the Social Network Conversations tab, click Edit
  1. Select Yes for Show Social Conversations for User Created Content
  1. Select Yes for Show Social Conversations for Specialist Created Content
  1. Click Save and Close

II. Restricting Social Network Conversations (from all learners to only enrolled learners in the course, specialization, or offering

  1. In the Social Network Conversations tab, click Edit
  1. Select Enrolled learners for each of the following:

View Social Conversations on Specialization

View Social Conversations on Course

View Social Conversations on Instructor-Led Offering

View Social Conversations on Self-Paced Offering

View Social Conversations on Blended Offering

  1. Click Save and Close

I. Configure Parameter Options (Table)

ABOUT: You enable and configure YouTube Video Search on the External Providers tab, Manage Setup page in Administrator work area. The following table explains YT configuration parameters options (p67)

Parameter : YouTube API KEY

Description : Enter the unique identifier for your project, which you create on the Credentials page of the Google API Console

Parameter: Video License Type

Description : Select to restrict the videos in search results to a specific license type or to show videos with any license type. YouTube videos can have the Creative Commons license or the standard YouTube license.

Parameter: Safe Search Mode

Description: Select to Exclude restricted content from search results. The option s are:

Option : STRICT excludes all the restricted content from search results

Option: MODERATE excludes content that's restricted in the user's locale

Option: NONE doesn't filter the search results. Includes all the content

Parameter : Maximum Result Set Size

Description: Enter a number up to 50 to specify the maximum number of search results. The default value is 6

Parameter: Publisher ID Filter

Description: Optionally, enter a channel identifier to restrict search results to videos created by a single channel

Parameter: Region Code Filter

Description: Optionally, enter a region code to restrict search results to videos from publishers in a single region

Assignments Initial Status Options (p.68)

Offering, Course, and Specialization Assignments : You can specify the default status of assignments (offerings, courses and specializations) in the Manage Setup page, Learning Item Default Attributes tab:

Initial Assignment Status Options: REQUESTED / ACTIVE

Description: REQUESTED: indicates that assignments created by a learner will have an initial status of Requested. Both the manager and admin can approve or reject a request. An admin activates an approved request. Learners can start learning only when the assignment is Active and from the assignment start date.

Initial Assignment Status Options : ACTIVE

Description: The default status of assignments created by administrator is always active. Learners can start using the learning item after the assignment status is set to Active. The admin can set a future date for an assignment

Initial Assignment Status Options : REQUESTED / ACTIVE

Description: REQUESTED: indicates that assignments created by a manager will have an initial status of Requested. The admin reviews the requested assignments and then changes the status to Active. You can also specify the assignment date so that learners can start using the learning item from this date

Description: ACTIVE: indicates that assignments created by a manager are ready for learning. Learners can start learning when they are assigned with the assignment

Description: ACTIVE: indicates that assignments created by a Learner are ready for learning. Learners can start learning as they enroll
