History: George Hearst, gained the San Francisco Examiner in 1880. 7 years later, William Randolph Hearst took over the running paper. W.R. changed the appearance of the paper to make it more compelling and hired new staff members to ultimately turn the paper into a more successful one. The company started to blow up and today is one of the largest communication companies in the world. it has interests in print, broadcasting, and the news media, including newspapers, magazines, book, and business publishing, television and radio broadcasting, cable network programming, newspaper features distribution, television production and distribution, and electronic publishing.
