- - - - RESULTS: First, The authors use a diagram to explain the relevance of awareness in shaping waste prevention, unlike of personal norms which were not significant determinant of waste prevention attitudes. Second, the study offers 3 practical implications for policy markers and managers. 1.- Provide several suggestions to policy makers on how to encourage waste prevention behaviour. 2. Initiatives and events for promoting waste prevention should be encourage through local social networks. 3.- Entrepreneurs can acquire new business opportunities from waste prevention initiatives. Extending the life time of a product provides greater environmental and cost benefits.
    - - METHOD: They formulated 5 hypothesis. Then, to validate the hypothesis they collect data using paper-based questionnaire -375-distributed to the inhabitants of Pietra Ligure, a municipality located in northwest Italy. The target group was a representative sample of Italian adult population that was able to adopt the targeted waste prevention behaviour. The questionnaire was divided into four section: demographic, information, exploring bahaviours, contextual forces and individual beliefs.
