Concentrated in Africa, Latin America, South Asia and Southeast Asia
Transmitted to humans by Anopheles mosquitoes which thrive in warm, humid environments. Anopheles mosquitoes are disease vectors that carry infected blood to different hosts leading to a spread of the disease.
Malaria is absent from cooler, drier areas(deserts, high mountains and plateaux) and urban areas
