If moderate or severe dehydration persists due to vomits the anti emetics are administered e.g. metoclopramide and also butylscopolamine are administered to treat abdominal pains
Plain water should be given to rehydrate the child or via intravenous delivery if cases of unconsciousness persists.
Drinking replacement therapy should be more of carbohydrates complex than those high in sugar e.g soft drinks and fruit juices.
