The Nike Air Jordan 1 Bred(black and red colorway) was the first shoe from the Jordan brand and was released September 15th, 1985. The shoe was released during his rookie season in the NBA. However, on October 18th of that same year, the NBA banned the shoe, as the shoe did not match the jerseys and shoes of his team, and did not have enough white in them, and he have to pay a $5,000 fee every-time he played in them, but Nike paid the fees for him. However, the shoes were extremely successful and would start one of the most successful and longest running shoe line of all time.
