Accreditation: is formal, independent recognition of an organisation or facility’s technical competence to perform a particular task or range of
tasks such as testing, inspections or calibrations.
Forensics: 17025 General Requirements for the competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories
• Forensic Field Application Document (FAD)
Limited to: the field of accreditation eg. Forensic DNA testing
class of test performed eg. Biological material identification, Paternity Testing, DNA analysis, Microscopic examination of hair (Limited examination only), Kinship Testing.

Non-conformances

Minor Condition (M)- does not affect reliability but a requirement for accreditation. Training record out of date. Deficiency that is infrequent. Action is required and needs to be dealt with before the next audit.
Condition (C)- affects the reliability of results, systematic problem, sampling deficiencies, any previous issue that hasn't been addressed.
