After the war, British soldiers were commisioned in the colonies and needed somewhere to stay, so they were allowed by the king to stay in the houses of colonists.
This was one of the earliest grievances that the colonists had against Great Britain because they even included it high on the Bill of Rights

Was a direct protest by colonists against the tea tax where Patriots dressed as mohawk indians dumped 342 containers of tea in the harbor.
Showed Britain that colonists were now fighting back and caused the uniting of the 13 colonies to fight together.
