Battle of Saratoga
Convinced the french to enter the war against britain, which brought about a turning point.
Defeated Burgoyne, and he left back to british disgraced, never came back.
End of 7 Years War
Led to British reconstruction after the war. This led to the need for more funding, which turned into taxes
Brought British immense amount of territory, however, this led to argument about frontier policy, as the colonists wanted to expand into native land.
Stamp Act
Levied taxes on every official document (you had to buy a British stamp) , documents, paper, and even playing cards were taxed.
Virginia House of Burgesses passed the Stamp Act resolve. Many colonists were outraged, it was repealed in 1 year.

Intolerable Acts
Americans could not "tolerate" the unfair laws that the british passed for this law. They basically isolated them and made everything run through the british. Soldiers were also sent into the colonies.
MAJOR leading point to the revolution. Caused private, illegal meetings and organizations that plotted to gain independence. Massachusetts colony was supposed to pay off their 1 million from the Boston tea party, however, the British isolated them from any trade other than through the british.

Led to many writers and speakers using techniques to rouse the colonists for independence. caused a lot of tension and drama which ultimately led to the revolution.
Caused a lot of controversy about whether the British shot innocent citizens or if the citizens provoked them.
