definition- a metabolic disorders occurs when the metabolism process fails and causes the body to have either too much or too little of the essential substances needed to stay healthy.
causes- you can develop a metabolic disorder of certain organs for instance, the pancreas or the liver stop functioning properly. these kind of disorders can be a result of genetics, a deficiency in a certain hormone or enzyme, consumption of too much of certain food or number of other factors.
treatment- If drug treatment is to be used, this is usually with metformin.
This can help certain high-risk groups, especially people with high blood glucose levels and those on the spectrum of obesity that is not manageable with dietary and lifestyle modification.
