Self-awareness
Neither overly critical nor unrealistically hopeful
Recognise how their emotions effect themselves, others and the job they are doing
Highly aware of their goals
knows where they are headed and why
A lack of self awareness often results in poor decision making that causes internal conflict
It shows itself as

Being able to control emotions and responses to adverse or challenging situations
Being 'self-aware' of emotions and feelings, and separating them from business decisions
Not repressing emotions, but acknowledging calmly

They create a more positive work environment promoting efficiency

Reduces chances of decisions being made out of anger, spite or any other overwhelming emotions
Ensures decision is made on purely economical or business reasons
Empathy
The ability to thoughtfully consider the position another is in and compare it to a situation you have experienced and make the best possible decision accordingly

Social Skills
The ability to network, communicate and manage relationships with others and establish common ground between a diverse range of individuals, above, below or parallel to yourself
Social skills are imperative in bringing together the other facets of emotional intelligence
Is useful in influence people to move in the same direction as yourself
