The Four essentials of innovations/entrepreneurship
Craig Groeschel
Problem to solve
Every great innovation is a solution to a problem (sometimes solutions that no one new they had)
We need to train our minds to see problems as opportunitites
Limited resource
Innovation is more about mindset that money. With limited resources, great ideas come!
Having more, isn't always better. More people can slow you down. More time can make you lazy. More money just causes you to buy solutions rather than create them.
Artificial restraint
Not 6 months get a project done, artificially restrained to 6 weeks.
Not $10000 to get the project done, but artificially restrained to $1000.
This forces you to be innovative!
Limited resources is a breeding ground for innovation
3.Willigness to fail
Failure is a part of innovation, perhaps the most important part!
Failure is a necessity
If you are not failing every now and again, you are playing it way too safe
A crazy idea
It's the potential value of the crazy idea is what will drive the innovation
Follow one crazy idea to the next
Innvative leaders - the idea does not have to be yours! It can come from your team.
You simly need the wisdom to recognize it, and the courage to attempt it.
Questions for application
What problem do you have that if solved, could be a game changer for your organisation?
Name every excuse that you feel like is limiting you, then ask, "How can that perceived limitation become a catalyst for innovation?"
What crazy idea do you have? What are you going to do about it?
